How it works
We provide a mental health diagnosis and deliver effective treatment to your doorstep, with ongoing care from your dedicated practitioner
Step 1:
Intake
Fill out a short online mental health assessment and secure a date for your initial 90-minute consult. A Scrubs provider will review your responses before the session and may reach out to request more information to better understand your needs.
Step 2:
Diagnosis
Your initial consult will take place virtually or in person with a clinician. You will discuss your health goals, medical and mental health history, medications and more. After the session, your clinician will provide a diagnosis, if applicable.
Step 3:
Treatment
Following diagnosis, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan and, if necessary, a prescription. Your clinician may refer you to a specialist or recommend additional testing to help you find medication best suited to your biology.
Step 4:
Support
If prescribed medication, your clinician will check in regularly to discuss your progress and make any dosage adjustments. You will also be able to book follow-up consults with your clinician as needed for $99 a session.

Scrubs-affiliated providers are registered to provide services throughout Alberta. Currently, mobile lab service is available in Calgary and area. A travel surcharge based on distance is added for service to Okotoks, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff and other rural areas. Prescription delivery is free.

The cost of intake and diagnosis is just $575. After that, if you decide to proceed with treatment a prescription is provided for free. Medication will be billed separately and the cost to you will vary based on the exact prescription and your insurance coverage. Typically, employer health spending accounts cover the cost of medication.

The fees cover your consult, personalized treatment plan, titration of your dose and prescription renewals and prescription delivery to your door. Additional consults with your clinician can be booked and could include a video consult or direct messaging or in-person session in Calgary.

There are a variety of medications available for ADHD and other mental health conditions and optimal dosing can vary considerably from one person to the next. Our expert providers will determine the best treatment for you based on your biology and other factors.

Your provider will work closely with you to find the optimal dose and type of medication to maximize benefits and minimize side effects. This process is known as titration. You will be prescribed a conservative dose to start. After four weeks your Scrubs provider will consult with you to see how things are going and potentially adjust your dose. This process will continue until you both believe the medication is working well for you.

Yes! Most health spending accounts cover some or all of the costs associated with consultations, lab tests and prescriptions. Scrubs is a private company, so our consults are not yet covered by provincial health insurance. Certain services may also be eligible under other employee benefit and Blue Cross plans. Contact your benefits provider to check your coverage. The Scrubs care team will happily help you explore options for coverage.
